Chibok Girls: BBOG Group Calls For US Assistance On Information Gathering
The BringBackOurGirls group has called on the United States to assist Nigerian government in information gathering, educational development and forensic investigations in tackling Boko Haram insurgency and rescuing of the Chibok girls. While welcoming the US Congresswomen to the group’s sit-out at the Unity Fountain, Abuja, one of the leaders of the group, Aisha Yesufu tasked the delegation to help the country in the area of forensic and intelligence gathering which she noted will help facilitate the rescue of the abducted girls.
She also reminded the delegation that as the world super power, the US and the world in general, owe the Chibok girls the duty to rescue them after leaving them in the hands of their abductors for over one year now.
Recall that Congresswomen, Wilson Frederica, a representative from Florida and Jackson Lee Sheila, a representative from Texas; born in Queens, Queens County, New York; had visited the group’s sit-out to support the call for the rescue of the Chibok girls.
Congresswoman Frederica, while speaking to the group, had stated that “we are looking at President Mohammedu Buhari to train the army, bring back the loot, bring employment and save the nation. We are standing and we will continue to stand with you. Put pressure on your elected official. You put them to work. This is a new day in Nigeria. You should make the elected officials to be accountable. Keep pressuring them.”
She further noted that time has come when every person in the country should support the BBOG group and ensure that the needful is done in the fight against insurgency.
“Everyone, from senators, representatives and governors, every elected official should join in the fight. It should not be left just for the activists. Everything must be done to win this war.
